MEVO #1-4 Map/Counter/Scenario Breakdown

No doubt many of you are wondering, with the release of the first four MEVO modules, which ones are needed to play, well, which ones. Or…maybe you aren’t because y’all bought all of them and already know the answer. Which just means now you’re wondering why you’re bothering to read this.

For those one or two people who didn’t buy them all or, maybe, are thinking of buying them, this article is for you. I will give a brief breakdown by module of which modules are required to play. So, without further ado, here you go!

Module Breakdown

Module #1AFVs, Infantry and Weapons UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Counters:

All six scenarios (1-6) in this module are US vs. Russia, so you’ll need Module #2 as well to play (which is probably blindingly obvious) unless you want to simulate some NTC (National Training Center) Blue on Blue pretending to be Red action.

Maps (1-4):

  • Only one uses maps just from Module #1, and
  • the other five use a mix of maps from both Modules #1 and #2.

Module #2 – AFVs, Infantry and Weapons RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Counters:

Five of the six scenarios (7-12) are, once again, US vs Russia, however, one scenario is Ukraine vs Russia which means you need the counters from Module #3 to play it.

Maps (5-8):

All six scenarios use maps from only Modules #1 and #2.


That said, with just Modules #1 and #2, you have 11 scenarios you can play and, of course, eight geomorphic maps to create a large variety of different situations. The good news is, you could just get those first two modules and be self-contained.


Modules #3 – AFVs, Infantry and Weapons UKRAINE

Counters:

All six scenarios (13-18) in this module are Ukraine vs Russia, so you just need the counters from those two modules.

Maps (9-10):

  • Four of the scenarios use maps from Modules #1 and #2,
  • one uses maps from Modules #2 and #3, and
  • and one uses maps just from Module #2.

Given that you needed Module #1 to get the Chapter M rules (unless you got those as a PDF regardless? I have no idea since I bought all four), it’s likely that you’ll have what you need to play this one, too.


Module #4 – AFVS, Infantry and Weapons BELARUS/LPR/DPR

This module, as befits its status as “last” (at least in the first batch) has a far greater mix and match of requirements. It contains 10 scenarios (19-28).

Counters:

  • Six of the scenarios are Ukraine vs. LPR/DPR [Modules #3 & #4].
  • Two of the scenarios are US vs Belarus [Modules #1 & #4].
  • One scenario is US vs LPR/DPR [Modules #1 & #4].
  • One scenario is Ukraine vs. Russian/LPR/DPR [Modules #2, #3, & #4]

Maps (11-12):

  • three scenarios use maps from Modules #1 & #2,
  • two scenarios use maps from Modules #2 & #3,
  • two scenarios use maps from Modules #2, #3, & #4,
  • one scenario uses maps from Module #2,
  • one scenario uses maps from Module #4, and
  • one scenario uses maps from Modules #2 & #4.
